The natural time to start to change your diet is during the hottest part of the summer around mid-August. This is the time when the Summer’s energy starts to wane and the Fall’s energy gradually increases. Excessive fruits, liquids, sweets, cold and other cooling foods consumed during the summer can weaken your health as the weather cools.

To adjust to the seasonal change in a natural way slowly start to reduce the foods mentioned above and increase well cooked warming foods. These dishes can include millet and sweet vegetables, more hearty soups, nishime and other well cooked dishes.

If you haven’t made these changes now is a good time to start!
